Introducing Ground Control

A realtime blogging platform for Meteor

Update 2014: Ground Control serves as a starting point for building a blog platform in Meteor. Since this post, we’ve moved to WordPress as we needed some more advanced features that we didn’t have the time to build. In the future we’d like to move back to Ground Control.

We’d like to introduce you to our new baby: Ground Control, a Meteor Blogging Platform. If you are reading this post then you are already a little familar with the platform, as this blog is running on it!

Ground control is still fairly bare-bones at this point, but it does allow you do the following:

  • Write posts in Markdown
  • Set a global email domain for admin users (e.g. @percolatestudio.com).
  • Invite users manually if an email domain is not appropriate.
  • Publish and un-publish posts, as well as manage your post list.
  • Subscribe to the posts via RSS (see the link on the top right).

There’s a lot more that can be done to make Ground Control awesome, and we’d love your help! So check out the git repository, download the app, and try it out; and let us know what you think.

We hope you like it!
